These braces bolt on just behind the front spring rear hangers. I've never seen these on a civilian truck only some CUCV's but there's no reason they wouldn't fit any model.

$40 + freight. SALE PENDING to Meen Green

And I don't see exactly how they're reinforcing the frame in that area. I would call those things GM's cheap version of attempting to box the frame. :doah::haha:

My M1028 has them, but my M1009 does not did they only come on the trucks and not k5's? I am interested in them if they would fit a k5, i am wondering if they would sice the frame thickness is different?

I have an 87 frame and they would have fit fine, the only reason I didn't install them was because I moved the spring hangers right in the way (during my 52" spring swap).

As for the frame differences I'm 99% sure that the frame forward of the 2nd body mount (under the footwell) is basically the same with the exception of year differences at the tip of the frame horns.

IIRC they only put these in the 1986 and up CUCVs. Mainly to handle the large amount of HP and TQ the 6.2 put out :waytogo:.

Sorry for not updating this sooner, I currently have a sale pending to Meen Green.
