The bug has bitten again and i'm looking for a CUCV M1009. I only need/want a complete (low rust) rolling chaisis, I have running gear that I will drop in. This one won't see much road time, it's destined for the hunting duties....and will be flat towed a bunch.

So, if anyone knows of such a machine....let me know. . Have tow rig, will pick up, "most" of the lower 48, the lower the better!...diesel's high!

Thanks in advance,

Check here especially since you are willing to go most places and tow home. They always have good chit here.

Thanks,

I have never considered going directly to the aution place, might be fun. I'm going to do a little research on this approach. I'm a little affraid there may be too much stuff that I want.

its pretty far from you but here in pa there is a place that has a few real nice ones..check coleman military surplus...they have a few and are in decent shape but they are all complete running driving vehicles..its been a while since i was there, actually a few years but they still have em in the auto locator here...

There is one for sale here in Baton Rouge. 4500.00 but its been for sale for almost a year. looks to be in good shape. let me know i could run over and try to get some pictures and the number off it.

Thanks for the inputs guys, I'm overwhelmed!

Here's the "current plan"....I have a strong 350, access to axles, an SM465 box, etc. So, I am looking for a rolling chasis (hopefully minimal rust). Anything running is going to be a waste of money "for me", because I intend on pulling most of the stock drive train out.

The $4500 M1009 is too much for my needs. Thanks for the inputs! & wow! that guy in Texas has some machinery!!!

Big BLZN....I followed your lead and I registered on the Gov site. This looks like a bunch of fun. I'm sure I won't get one right off the bat...BUT, I have a bid in on one now. It's a pig-n-a-poke, but if you don't want the running gear, the gamble drops considerably.

I can't thank you guys enough for the ideas and inputs. I have owned 2 K5's in the past and you guys know how it is when the "bug bits"
