I have an 83' CUCV. It has the blackout light switches on the dash. I want to remove them and run normal headlight switches a such. How do I do it?

Thanks

Umm, leave the left switch in the center, and the right one in the upper "Service Lights" position... then you just use the headlight switch as normal.

You COULD rewire the whole truck, but why?

Even when working on it I keep bumping the switches which would not be good thing as a DD. Also, thats where I want to mount the wiper switch.

does it not have the proper swiches in it? The correct ones have to be pulled out in order to push it up "on".

It has the proper switches. But it does not "lock" in that position, it is easliy bumps back down.

Just go ahead and wire the blackouts to your headlights, and do away with the switch. Ok so the little lights in front and red ones in back dont help. but you are already wired for some aftermarket lights! whats wrong with the wipers in the turn signal stalk? its cheap to replace and easy to reach.

I went to a manual column, without the stalk. I will switch to a manual tranny later too.
