CUCV Tach?

That might have something to do with the 200amp charging system. set the idle with the knob under the tach to run all the radios and stuff. clean low-mileage truck, curious what it will go for.

its right by me, i started bidding on it, but it quickly went out of my price range :(

At 6k in miles it's certainly worth the $5800 current bid.
It may only have 6K miles... but how many hours do you think that truck sat running at 1500 RPM as a generator? Probably enough to equal 50-75K miles on the motor I would bet. The drive train however...

Yeah but the reserve was not met, you can only imagine what the reserve is from all the talk about how rare and clean this truck is.
:haha:

The hour meter says 419 but of course who knows when that was installed. The engine bay looks pretty good. Doesn't look like it's been hosed down recently to clean up for the sale:rolleyes:

At 7100 it's at about the most I might pay. 8k or over I'd have to see it first.

Main thing I'm wondering is how they ran the tach? If there are factory 6.2L diesel tach parts out there I'd like to know what to look for.

I have a tach from a humvee and it had a sensor strapped on the alternator.
I haven't seen any on CUCV yet.
I also have a Tach that has a pick up signal from the injector lines "tiny tach"

As for the hour meter, all CUCV's had hour meters from the factory as far as I know (at least the equipment vehicles) because they knew they would be idling for hours othe than driving.

Winning bid $8000.00 wow, I guess if you're collector, but if you wanted to use the truck thats about double what I'd be willing to pay.

I have yet to see a cucv with an hour meter in it. some of the m1009's that got the radio's put in, may have been optioned with them though.
