Were Can I Get Info. On Buying Cucv Trucks I Need A Dana 60 & 14 Bolt Combo At A Good Price.:d

Expect to pay upwards of $2,500 for a truck that is completely scrap with decent axles.

I gave up my search and bought a set of 4.10s in a D44/14bff combo.

I bought a 84 K30 in good shape for $1000. Runs great too! Just have to look around.

Anybody ever had a govliquid vehicle shipped to them? Know how it works? Any idea what it would cost for about a 300mi delivery?

If you read the descriptions in the auctions, you have a short window if time to pickup your prize. No help in loading it says. I wouldn't bid on anything unless it was near you to go get.

Then again, a buddy and I were bidding on a K30 that was sitting at FT. Carson here in Colorado. Thought we had it all to ourselves and then a bidding war insued. Guess what at least 3 other guys from this site and a few more from a local Colorado 4x4 board were bidding on it too. We all kept quiet thinking (hopeing) no other like minded person would find it. after it ended we figured out who we were bidding against...

Proabably pointless to expect a sweethart deal on that site since they noted in a magazine a year or so ago. Now everybody watches it.

And don't forget the "Buyer's Premium"

I think it's like 10% over and above the winning bid.

What the heck does that mean?

That is what the civilians that run the program get their paychecks out of.

You buy from them, add 10% to the final bid price and tat is what you will pay. ($1,000 bid + 10% = $1,100 final price). You also have to load and haul it off base by yourself and normally within a week or so.

Getting on/off base was an aggrivation for me when I bought a trailer because I didn't have the proper pigtail to hook up the lights. They did not want me to drive on base with no taillights. Finally one of the MP's "escorted" me off. That's just to say that it can be a PITA and remember to read the rules or call ahead because you can't have certain things on base tat may live in your truck (ie-guns)
