I’ve searched online. But has anyone integrated a CUCV grill guard with a winch bumper? I have been messing with this bumper to fit on my truck, and then I came across a guy selling a CUCV bumper and grill I couldn’t pass up. But was wondering if anyone had cut one up
And welded on a bumper? What’s everyone’s opinions on it? I’ve seen cool ideas to add a winch plate to the CUCV grill. But I like the protection with a winch bumper. I’ve tagged a lot of deer over the years in my area. Lol.

Seems like Fred Williams with Dirt Every Day did that on a build called Alabama Army Truck or something. The truck looked like a CUCV but not sure if it was legit.

I was wrong, it’s a CUCV grille guard on a winch mount not a full bumper.

Project name is right, pics on Instagram.

Do this or the one that goes behind bumper. Dont take away the cucv grille guard.

yeah that is a pretty cool way to mount a winch on the grill. I want the protection of the winch bumper. I saw 78SWB had tried to fit a CUCV on his truck. Was curious to see how they looked on the 73-80 body.
I’m not sure what to do, I may just save the CUCV bumper and grill for my sons build and just move forward putting the Winch bumper on the blazer. I thought I had seen someone integrate the two together over the years but can’t find anything online.

For a second I thought it was original CUCV. It might be tough to fit it to the aftermarket bumper but not impossible.

Yep. Favorite of mine.

Cool to see it in person at SEMA. Crappy side pic

If you want to keep your sheet metal a 1980 has square headlights. I modded a CUCV number and guard to fit my 80 Jimmy.

Canadian Army had some early round headlight CUCV...1976 year I believe. Dana 44 frt. Two grill guard styles on those...one with mesh center, one without.

I cut my grill guard and mounted it on a bumper with winch. I cut it to keep the height at the hood, added tabs on the bumper and grill for bolt mounts. I had to cut some pieces and add other pieces to make the opening on the grill match up with the winch opening. I'm refreshing the build, so I don't have any current pictures, but I found an old one that might work for you.

Another option all though they are getting tough to find...
Ramsey made frame brackets to fit their old 8k winch behind the bumper and all you had to do was cut a hole in the stock bumper where the license plate goes for the cable to come thru and a place to mount the fairlead.

Nice work!! I finally got the bumper mounted today. Been working on it after work this week. I had to make some brackets to raise the bumper up and trim a little sheet metal to suck it closer. Have a 1” BL but I ended up raising it up about 3” to get it where I wanted it. This bumper was kinda twisted and not straight so made it extra fun to get it to fit.
I’m debating cutting that CUCV grill, or saving it for my sons 86 build...... I like how yours turned out.

Round headlight early CUCV grill vs 1985 square headlight CUCV grill......

I have one of those round-headlight grille guards. Didn't notice that it had the wrong mounting flanges until after I bought it.

The boltholes match, but really the boltholes don't match. :doah:
