looking for a cummins 8.3 6cta . mech injection pump bosch unit.

lets just say this one is non rebuildable . major boom boom .

You need an Allison auto also? Or just the engine?

just stating what its setup is . no tranny just engine .

as its got a extra large extra hole in the side of the block . . . . :doah:

cant get in to steelsoldiers site it has problems . ? ? ?

also I got a guy local 1hr or so away that does this stuff and might have one .

just getting feelers at this point .
 
went out tonight at work and its a front sump pan.

also got a line on a 40k mile running engine . . . . . but its from a 2000 model year reg vehicle . its in a public transit bus . got all the paper work available and history of maint on the bus also .

just not sure if we can use the 2000 year 8.3 or not . as I am not knowledgeable with diesel stuff.

Ya forget a cummins reman. Your core is no good. So you'll be paying that as well.

You will find a used one somewhere. You can also use a genset engine too. You can swap your parts onto it.
 
I wouldn't say forget a cummins reman, cause it does come with a warranty, but yes cheaper options can be had.
 
hate to do it but can buy whole 5ton 6x6 for under $8k bucks within 200miles and just pull the engine and have spare parts truck .

and also this thing blew so hard down low not sure if all bolt on front drive parts are even worth the swap over and trust them ? ? ?

hell the lower left on the cover I think power steering pump is 45* from square home position . chunks of cam m.i.a and I can see #1 rod main cap pointing up to top of engine . :weapon9:
 
work all day 2 1 job .

then dark when I get to night tow job . sorry . . . .

will get them this weekend in day light .

its our new special recovery truck if we get another motor in it. :whistle:
 
engine block left side behind unit bolted on timming cover now shoved 45* off square with busted cover. also note front stub of cam broken off and stuck in block hole . and chunk of cam missing . cant see in this pic but #1 rod cap is pointing up at head . . . . owwwwweeee .
