well i worked on fire trucks for a few years and would def stay away from the cumaparts. but gotta love those driptroits. they all leak but they dont die and produce some serious power. the cats arent bad but i still like detroit.
as far as light duty diesels the powerchoke is allright if you can keep a tranny behind it and could keep it from leaking fuel. The cumaparts work well and have been tried and trued but its still a cumapart. The dmax allison combo works well now that the injector issue is fixed. also by the eng specs i bet youll see it going twin turbo in the next year or two.
all said and done beef up your frame and suspension and drop in a good ole driptroit 8v92 w/ a 13 spd

spd auto. The cummins will have a new motor in 07, on Cummins website it lists it at 325/750. I think the hp will be higher and tq lower, but not by much. It'll get a 6 spd too, the 4 wont cut it anymore. I think Ford better be real careful with their 6.4 TT, that could be disaster. We can compare dyno numbers all day, but its all about what the truck does. The Cummins torque comes on way down low, so it might not win a race with the other guys, but it has incredible low end torque.
