cummins engine question

been back and forth on diesel swap into the crew cab. Dont know a whole lot of details as far as what years, etc to look for. But always keeping an eye out. Also not sure what they are going for as far as cost goes. Any ideas?
I found this in the paper and curious what engine this would have and if its a good deal:
"1994 Totaled dodge truck 2500 cummins engine selling parts or whole $1,500"

Well, my best guess would be a Cummins engine.































J/K, 5.9 L with inline pump, helluva deal if engine is complete and not damaged.

I would jump on this one.
That's a great deal if the engine was not damaged. You'll have all the parts for the swap.

That sounds like a screaming deal, as long as there is no engine damage from the accident.

Talking with guy trying to make arrangements for some trade, etc
Engine has 200K on it, and was owned by his step father (who died in the crash ). He said he was an old fart and took care of the truck VERY well. Truck was hit on drivers side door little of the bed and little of the front fender.
He said the hood still opens fine though. Tranny is cracked.

200K isn't even half it's life, it should go for 500,000 miles if taken care of...

In fact, I have spoken with a guy who, some months ago, turned over 960,000 on a 98 24v without a rebuild. Trannys, transfer cases, and rear ends are another matter though. He hotshots for a living, and the truck has been putting down 700 rear wheel torque for 99% of its life. I guess that's good.

I have head they get great mileage out of these engines, but DAAAAYYYYUUUUMMM!!
