There's several folks on here that have installed 6BT's in their rigs... Look in the diesel section.

yeah, sure have. the one i saw was a 4bt and sounded like a tractor. it was awesome!
I have seen sweet k30 crew cab with a 6bt, would have loved to have it for a tow rig. Curious how hard of a swap it would be, a 6bt with a nv4500 behind it would be fun

a 4bt out of a gm breadtruck bolts right up to a th400/sm465/early model nv4500. The rest is motor mounts and hooking it up. its actually quite simple. 4btswaps.com is a good place to start.
I know a guy who has a 4bt in a chevy truck. Unfortunately, that is all I can tell you. It fits, and that's all we may ever know.

I am working on a 78 k10 SWB with a 4bt right now. I got the pickup for free from my cousin who's wife thought it was an eyesore. It is not intended to be a hardcore off-road rig or a tow rig. I wanted something that could take me 2 hours down the interstate to the mountains for hunting/fishing/camping. MPG was a priority since that means more frequent use and trips to the mountains. I wanted something that would be reasonably capable off-road, comfortable and drivable on the road, and not so pretty that I would be afraid to scratch it. The K10 had a 350/465/205 and a 4" superstiff lift when I got it... and it has sort of snowballed now.

new CV shafts
14 bolt SF rear
8 lug 44 front
Shackle flip in rear/ with axle shifter rearward
Modified front spring pack with axle shifted forward

New rubber floor mat and lots of sound deadner
Got 33x12.50s on it now, but thinking of switching to 255/85-16s.

I am also putting a 92 5.9 ctd in a 1984 K5 with a 97 Dodge HD nv4500 and a 93 Dodge np205 passenger drop with a d44 front and a 14 bolt ff rear with 4.10 I hope to be done this year.
