hey one of my supervisors at work was telling me that on the new cummins if you run a fram oil filter it would void warranties sp? there is a tsb tech sevice buliten on this just thought id pass it on

I run fleetgaurd on both my Cummins, fuel and oil.
The fact that Fram voids warranties was discussed on www.towrig.com a while back.

If dodge says fram filters will void your warranty, than they have to provide you with a filter that does not void the warranty free of charge. There is a federal law that says so. I dont remember the name or number of the law but i'll see if i can get it at work tomorrow.(i work in auto parts)
Basically if the dealer tells you that, ask for it in writing. They will not give it to you. If they DO give you a written statement saying an aftermarket filter (such as fram) will void the factory warranty, they are obligated by law to provide a sutible filter free of charge.
