Well its been a while since ive been on this site. This is my crawler build. Going to keep it kinda short since its been over a three year span. It started life as a military ambulance (m1010) and was an old mans farm truck before I purchased it for 1k.

It had been siting for 7 years when I got it and my plans were never to build it at all. I wanted to part it out to make some money for the big dumb mud truck I had at the time. But..... I put a battery in it and a new starter and it ran. So in 5 days time I had it trail ready. It had a 6.2/th400/208 on tons with an open front and Detroit rear. I put it on some double beadlock recentered h1s with some 37s and no lift. It was a blast and my life has been changed for ever since I'm now a rock crawling addict.

Fast forward a few years. I ditched the 6.2 because of my love for HP and installed a sweet 383 stroker motor that I built. I had a fancy aftermarket throttle body injection system that kept giving me lots of issues and after lots of contemplation I decided that having a rig that was fuel injected via a computer wasn't my kinda setup. After all; wheeling is about having fun, not replacing $500 computers because the distributor shocked it.

This thing gets wheeled extremely hard, so take that into account for the rest of the build and the things to come in the future. I don't build weak links into this rig. If it breaks, I upgrade it. Even with the stock 6.2 it saw a few feet of air. I broke a th400 in half with the 383 because I landed on the rear driveshaft.

blah blah blah blah. Current status is in the building phase. I started the cummins swap about two years ago and man it has been hell. When I started building this, i worked in a shop that had a dirt floor. I now have a piece of land and i built a nice little shop just for doing this stuff.

The engine is a 1992 ve pump 12 valve. Has a stage 5 fuel pin, 4" down pipe, kdp fix, hx35 turbo, and that is about it. It makes plenty of power right now and will probably not need much more for me to be happy; i did this swap to have a reliable rig, not soo much for the power. Although it is very nice. Cooling is provided by a factory dodge 1st gen radiator with a custom shroud that houses two 12" flex a lite fans. The trans builder is finishing up the th400 as I'm typing this, it is a full billet 400 with everything to hold up to 1000hp. The tcase is a 205 round pattern with 1480 forged front yoke and 32 spline front output both from high angle driveline.

The axles are dana60/14bolt. 4.56 geared with a mini spool rear and a Detroit front. 35 spline spicer shafts (getting chromos soon) with Yukon drive flanges. Disc conversion rear with pinion guard. DIY4x diff covers front and rear.

The truck has an 18 point cage with removable engine cage. 5 point simpson harnesses. 10lb fire extinguisher. The suspension is 2" front springs from superlift and 52" rears with some springs removed.

The front springs only lasted 1 trip and they were toast so I am 3 linking the front on 14" fox coilovers. I plan to link the rear but it isn't on the current list. I have the factory push/pull steering on the rig right now, but all of the stuff for the PSC double ended ram setup is on the way.

Hope yall like it and i hope to have it done and beating on the trails soon.

If these aren't in der I apologize. Timeline should go 6.2 diesel, 383 stroker, cummins

Took me an hour to post this one photo. Really wish we didn't have to use photobucket anymore, its 2017 for crying out loud!!!

Anyways, yall don't get any build pics because I would die before they all uploaded. Finished up the 4 link front and the PSC full hydro. Just got it running today. New trans is in and working perfect. First scheduled event to wheel it is march 4th. I still have a decent amount of work left but its all small stuff. Skid plates, front ds, and rear ladder bar is on the list.
