i would NOT buy from customefis. it took that joker 9 months to make me a custom harness and only a harness. when i received it, it was not what i had ordered. he used factory GM connectors that he had cut off and soldered and heat shrinked on new wire. what a joker.
This is exactly what I'm debating with my truck right now. I have a '90 K5 so I've got the TBI but I want LOTS more power than this unit and heads will deliver. The problem is, no one builds a big TBI unit at a decent price. It seems that by the time you buy a big Holley TBI unit you are very close to the price of an MPFI unit. Fuel injection is nice but man its expensive. Sometimes I wish I had an older truck so I could just put a carb on and be done. A carb is just so much more flexible and easier. Also, after I debate and look at so many different FI options and the prices I want to just forget it and go back with my stock unit. BUT that's no fun!
looks a little cheesy, but at the same point, a Holley 4 barrely throttle body costs I believe about $1000 just for the throttle body. The whiteknight is running a 4 barrely TBI setup, search and see who they went through.
Actually it was Affordable Fuel Injection. It was a custom job for a sponsor vehicle, we don't normally do these systems. But you can see what we are doing with White Knight this year is MPFI.
If you want a TBI upgrade you can go two inch bore intake and TBI unit. I have a couple 5.7L TBI intakes already bored to two inch $95. Then you need a big block TBI...
