I started a ammo box console for the blazer. I started with the stuff you see in picture #1. A 30 mm explosive rnd ammo box. $25.00
After removing the handles and no essentials I cut the top into two pieces. One half will house the Cobra classic 25 cb and a to be named later CD player. The other half will be for storage. I reinforced the the box using 1X1/8 flat stock and used it for the "lock bar". The box is still water resistant 'cept for the holes from the removal of the handles. The additional components cost $23.00 from Home Depot. I installed a lock to deter thievery. I plan on putting an arm pad on the back portion and installing it in the stock console location location. So far I'm in it less that $60.00. Whoo hoo.

No new pics yet, started on a bikini top for the K5 and this got pushed to the back of the line. I did get the cutouts done for the CB and the CD player. I plan on having a CD player w/ an auxillary input option and intergrating a plug so I can plug in da mp3 player for xtra tunes. I', gonna have to fab up a riser for the rear so that it sits level. But so far I am pretty happy with the design and progress.

By the way, once I finish the bikini top I will post up a few pics. I think thatalot of ya'll will like the design and hope to maybe offer a few up for sale. I'm making the top out of Sunbrella material. Cool material and hopefully have it ready for pics here in the next week or so.

Stay tuned....

I've been giving that a little thought. There is a definate need for some type of beverage holder, but I havent decided what I should do. My goal is to have it completed-- or should I say to an installed condition by July 3rd. I need to stop thinking and get it done.

Well I got the console in a "a;most" finished state. Still have to figure out the rear mount, got the cb and stereo mounted. Plan on installing a Fobus holster inside to carry the Glock so it dont bounce around in the console. Also need to finish the floor and the stereo side wall. Overall I am happy with it!

Get a couple of 12v computer fans from radio shack. One One blowing in and the other out. Should give it a little flow.

I have a couple of boxes(as you probably know). Let me know if you need one. I don't believe the cd player will work at that angle though.

leper, the one that i saw in the garage you didnt want to get rid of. And you said you didnt have anymore that size. Texas Army Navy has them for 25. You got just about everything to supply an army, including your wifes cookin:wink1:
