I have searched google and its mostly cars and Im looking for squarebody specific really
I searched here and pirate but not much luck.
Kurt never built one to my knowledge
Looking for ideas to compliment the DIY4x dash I have.
I'm really only limited to sheet metal since I suck with wood and dont have a tig welder.
Anyone have any sweet pics?


I wanna put a radio in it
Cup holders
CB
Locking chin ding
Switch panel to get it off the dash and open doors for more room.

Tuffy is out as they dont have enough room from what I have seen and I dont wanna spend $100-150 on them

Going in a single cab truggy with auto and twin sticked 205 one day doubler.
Kinda has a "racey" feel to me so I kinda am headed in that direction. I have looked at some prerunners but they only have 1 shifter lol.

2 different veiws 2 different cage designs on the roof side. Didnt like the "angry look"
 
There is a 4 speed shifter in one of the pics however it's no longer got one.
 
The tuffy one is great in my truck, it's pretty big and has a spot to put the deck in a covered compartment. But looking in your cab it looks like something sleek and lower would fit better.
 
If you decide to go the DIY route look into some Azec or other PVC panels, you can heat and mold them to almost any shape. The stuff is like wood but lighter and tougher, it's paintable and easy to clean. You could use an ammo box or something lockable as the core and form the Azec around it.

My current one is actually a ammo can. With a walmart cup holder screwed to the top. I really like the simplicity of it however its limited by what i can fill it wih

So Ive been a stay at home dad for this week. So Ive had alot of free time. I found a program to create something from nothing, This is kinda what I had in mind. Its not really to scale. Its not really proportionate Its an idea. Ill add a locking pistol holder in the slot and prolly a phone holder thingy for gps.

Kert had a badarse one out of alum for the DIY4 CC.... I just looked thru his CC thread for 15 minutes and couldn't find the pics..



I made the first simple K5 one from fiberglass...

Yeah I seen those also. Well kinda lol just knew about them.
Fiberglass crosse my mind but with the amount of time I would have to put into it Id be better off tac tac tacing my idea.
Plus I can change it later on if I want.
 
From what I can tell, the 40mm ammo cans are only 6" wide? If so, not even close to wide enough for a K5. Also, it appears the tops come completely off and don't hinge. Am I looking at the right thing? Last time I checked, the Tuffy ones seemed pretty awesome. This is the one I had on my wish list:

That is why Im building mine that $300 could get me the axle/tcase yokes Ive been wanting or another thing that goes bang Lol

I can get a sheet of metal for like $35. I have a welder and all the other tools I could prolly bang it out in a weekend or less. It would also be more along the lines of what I had in mind too.

They are definitely wider than that. They hold 2 drinks next to each other with some space in between. But yeah, the top does come completely off. I'm sure a hinge could be added

I attached a cup holder to the top. It works but something bigger seems to fit my needs.
