i was searching the forums the other day and i came across a couple pics of a first gen with custom fenders. i am not sure if the pics were on this site or if i found a link to the owners site but i cant find my way back to where i was. the fenders looked stock but had a larger wheel opening while still retaining the factory lines. if i remember right the fenders were white or unpainted. i assume these were a one off custom job but would like to see more. anybody have any idea where i found the pics?

Was it this guy?...

I've seen some other enlarged 1st Gen fenders on a white truck with what looked like a "feathers" paint scheme. The top of the wheel arch was sort of flattened out because of how the did the stretch though....

If you find the pic, I'd be curious to see it or the link! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

p.s. where did you find them?

I have a massive photo archive. Everything I see on posts or websites that I think is interesting gets a "Save As" to my local machine. You'd be amazed how many times I'd gone back looking for a photo and only gotten the red "x".....

Now I have lots of source photos of restoration parts, color chips, cool mods, etc. And I don't have to worry about someone else maintaining their links.

Welcome Bradley J. Is the white Blazer shown in this thread yours? If not, which one is it - always nice to put a vehicle with a name.

Hi Yukon Jack, thank you for welcoming me aboard!
yes the white blazer is my never ending project.
its looking better i hope to figure out how to add some photos.
i put basic info on members profile.

Where did you get these... OR how did you produce them? Iassume you didn't buy them and I would assume that you channeled them out but I'm not sure and hate assumeing (ASS_U_ME thing).

However you acomliched the look, it's great! And welcome to the site, I'm sure someone could walk you through post pictures if it's necessary.

Hi Greg,thanks for the welcome!
the fenders were quite the project, after mesureing about a thousand times
I had a backyard bodyman help cut the body line at the start of roll about
3" from edge that piece was then cut in 1/2 repositioned with gap between
fabed in, everything tacked and remesured again was welded in place and
ground,a couple extra inches were taken out on bottom to help make it
look right, kind of.. the b-y bodyman bailed on me and i took it to a
professional to finish right! still working on the photo link sorry.

Welcome aboard. If you don't mind, how expensive was it to have the pro fix the fenders. i've been thinking about trying, but will pobably need help to get them right.

Hi cbbr,thank-you!
i don't mind, i had 3 grand into the backyard bodyman when he bailed
what a mess! the pro cost about 4 more to finish right. hope to get
photos up soon. gotta go to work for now, need more parts!
Brad

Welcome bradley j :D and greetings from South Carolina.

Thats a sweet blazer you have. Just a few q's for ya. Did you alter the rear wheel openings? What did you have to do to the frunt inner fenders? Can't wait to see more pics.

Steve

Hi Steve, thank you!
all 4 openings have been cut, inners up front were pushed up and
welded all along fender for added strength. i came up with this idea
one day when playin with the tape, noticeing that the front opening
was larger than the rear(for steering) i contimplated on moving
front to rear then building fronts larger yet,but then, well a few
beers later and more measureing i thought why move them just
cut all of them!I'll get pics up soon as possible
Brad
