Talk to Jim (Stephens dad) at Offroad Design today about their disconnect kit for stabilizer bars. Putting Dana 60 under my 71 Blazer and he said that G.M didn't have sway bars for that year blazer, but he told me that someone here has custom fitted one to their First Gen Blazer. Need to talk to them. Help.

I saw a stock sway bar under a '76-'79, in a yard, with a 44 axle, those would fit our trucks wouldnt they ?
If so, I want it for mine!

'72 K-5 4x4, CST, 3.07, 4 speed, NP 205, 31' x 10.5", Olive green and primer, rusted out, rice smasher!

Take the sway bar, spring plates and try to get the mounting brackets that the bushings attach to.I did that with my 71 Blazer 4x4 and it works great! The doner truck was a late 70's early 80's 1/2 ton 4x4.

I have a Gen2 front bar. It's not on my Blazer at the moment, but I will put it on as soon as I make some good mounts for it. I will use the factory mounts at the springs, but I will be doing my own stiffer mounts at the crossmember and tying them into the frame and each other.

I put a sway bar from a late 70s blazer on mine. used stock mounts with some adaptations. I have pics somewhere.

Also if you do go this way make sure u get the beefier 1-1/4" bar and all of the mounting brackets.

ARQ.

A bar off the front of a K-20 pickup would be nice, hehe (1-1/4") Normally they are what, 1-1/16" ??
I've never taken the time to measure the 10 series bars. hmmm....
