custom hood scoops

i want to do a custom hood scoop on my next blazer but am undecided on what to use. anyone want to share pics of their custom hoods? my next blazer will be used for mud and sand so id like to do something that wont just dump mud and sand in the engine compartment lol

Are you looking for something that can be made functional or just for the looks? I have an old L-88 scoop on my Suburban, the only function it has is to look cool and hide hail damage.

I had one on my last truck (mud bogger) and while it served it's purpose of making room for the air cleaner it was a PITA to see around when wheeling. This one was a bolt on Harwood scoop. I'm not against hood scoops now but if I ever did it again it'd be a lot shorter.

not a bolt-on scoop, but custom hood with functional airpan none the less...

i want it to look good and unique but if i can make it functional as well that would be great i just worry about mud or water getting into the carb if it was functional

I'm just thinking for function, a snorkel might be preferable?

i might do a snorkel some time but i would still want a scoop on the hood at least for looks lol id just like to get some ideas of something different other then the traditional that most people have. although they look good i just want something different and unique

run a Mopar six-pack scoop.. it would certainly be original on a cheby..

That is a awesome Idea! where do they sell six pack scoops that you can adapt to a hood?

I don't have any pics of just the L-88 scoop, but it's visible in pics.
