Custom interior panels, how have they held up?

There are quite a few old threads where people built custom interior panels. For those of you that built them and have had them for a while, what did you use and how have they held up to the elements?
 
Mine aren't ancient, but for months now they've been solid.

panel board + 3M glue (the spray on kind for laying down laminate) + outdoor carpet. the rubber backed outdoor carpet had excellent adhesion to the panel board. plus they cost like $50 to make.
