getting ready to start the front end of the blazer truggy and plan to keep the leafs up there (for now at least). Who is using what custom leafs and how do you like them. Also, what did you pay for them. WHat did you have to supply in terms of truck info when you bought them. I'm sure lots of people wonder this too.

I will be getting two pair of Deaver Springs for my '72 K5 at the end of this year. I'm going with them for several reasons. Highly recommended by several people in the offroad industry. Spoke with Jeff Deaver last year at an offroad expo at the LA County Fair grounds and was very helpful and spoke at lenght about my application/concerns, etc. Only about 5 miles from my home. Basically, said about $700 per pair for custom springs. Told me to get my blazer loaded with all the gear that I would use when I go wheeling plus fill the tank with fuel and take it to a local public scales and put the front axles/half of the blazer and do the same with the rear. Get the print out and call/see them. Not cheap but from my research and the people I've spoken to Deaver seems to be the best. Just my $.02.

I think as long as you're very specific in regards to what you want the custom springs are the way to go. I bought a near new set of Alcan's a few years back...and apparently flex was the number one criteria when they were specc'd out. Great for wheelin, but suck donkey balls on the road.

Soft is good, but too much of a good thing makes for a seriously bad thing. My truck now handles so poorly i don't drive it anymore. I won't drive it again until I've swapped those springs out for some decent kit springs.

Again, it all comes down to communicating your needs and expectations (which I didn't get to do). The springs i have are not meant for much street driving IMO.

i was thinking i might just source some 4" super ride (or something like that) springs and remove some springs (i only run 3" lift). I'll probably end up throwing it all out and linking the front eventually.

I have been running Deavers on mine for about 3 years now and love them. They are good on the street because they are a progressive rate spring and they work great in the rocks. They have gone up in price sence I bought them but are still worth the cost. I have run BDS and other common brand springs and they dont ever compare. My BDS only lasted about 6 months before they were bent from rock crawling and a few jumps:D. The Deavers still have the same arch and havent even started to sag. My friend is running Alcans on his blazer and loves them but he doesnt do as much street driving and has had a couple of problems with them sitting to high in the back (even had to send a pair back) but there service was great. I would go with the Alcans if you eventually plan on changing them out.
