So I put this 4" lift and 33" tires onto the burb and my 5'0" wife and my daughters were having a hard time getting into it!! :haha:

So.......my wife came up with the idea:

I purchased 2 sets of European Riding Stirrups, or Irons, for $14/pair and then got 200 feet of Black Paracord for $15.

1.5 hours of labor doing 4-strand base with a Cobra Braid over the top for strength and I have removable "Sissy Stirrups" that slide under the seat in the rear once you get in and then slide to the sides of the front seats between the seat and the seatbelt assy. :thumb:

What do you all think?

I think your a sissy

:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

I like em!

Couple years back I saw this Jeep pull up and stop, NICE jeep seriously setup. Door opens and this little ladder things drops out. Old guy hobbles out grabs his cane takes a step over to wifes side she gets out.

I thought that was super cool

Are they hard to use? If you put your foot in it, Is it stable? Seems like it would move around a lot. My wife would fall over if she tried to use that. The few times I allowed my wife to go for a ride with me, I had to bring a long a step stool for her to use to get in and out. How embarrasing. Open the back door, set it up for her, get her out, put the step stool back in the back.

Thats why my burb is for men only.

Looks pretty effective though. :waytogo:

She grabs the door handle puts her left foot into the stirrup and once she puts her weight on it, which isn't much, they don't move around much at all while she steps into the truck........but she's used to getting into a saddle too!!

My 13 year old daughter also had no problems at all using them......my 5 year old and 2 year old daughters are having fun and getting the hang of it too!

You put the lift on?:dunno:

Just hammering on you. Don't take it literally.

Please tell me they pull them in after they get in.

sorry Wade.......you, Ward, Jeff, Greg, Vernon, and some of the other guys I'm forgetting first names of put my lift on :D

yes, they pull them in before they shut the doors.....I took pics with them hanging out for grins/giggles:whistle:

I could imagine the noise they would make going down the road. Gives you something to tie to when you need to roll it back over.

Couple of years ago, I was eating breakfast at this little country cafe after a turkey hunt, and these three people walked in.

He was about 5'11'' weighed about 275, she was shorter, and probably topped 350.
Not a lot of muscle on her.

Their son, looked to be about 11, probably 5'4 weighed less than 80. We figured he did not get much to eat in that house.

We sat around a while after we finished, they did not take long to eat.
As a result, we wound up walking out just ahead of them.
I was watching them walk to their truck, thinking she had better not walk on that asphalt on a really hot day, when we realized that the truck was a 4wd, and the door sill came up almost to her knees.

I told the driver to wait, I wanted to see how she got in.
Turns out the husband was a real gentleman. Not only did he open the door for her, he reached into the back of the truck and lifted out the marine battery for her to step up on!:eek1:

We were cracking up at that, when he put his shoulder in her butt and lovingly crammed her on in, with the kid pulling from inside.

For the next 5 minutes, just we would settle down and start to drive off, someone would snicker, and we were off again.

I was at the Laughlin bike rally one year and watched this 150lb guy get on an older Honda. 2 other guys walk up and grab the sissy bar on the back. I just about spit beer out of my nose the the 350lb lady climbed on the back. Was not graceful or pretty to watch. Not sure how the bike stayed up in the corners or how he stopped it.

So what are you gonna do with the other 190 ft of cord....
Man, what a waste.....:haha:

I think it a cool idea, on the pass side

I was only going to make one for the passenger front door for the wife, but the cost of the stirrups were cheap enough that I decided to just do all 4 doors.....the wife drives it sometimes!

Each Stirrup uses 25ft of paracord.....its one continuous piece wraped back and forth for a 4 strand base and then cobra braided over the top. The idea is like a survival bracelet.....I can take them apart and I have 25 ft of paracord at a time:D

The other 100ft of left over cord stays in the truck for emergency purposes as well now.......:waytogo:
