so the map pockets are missing on my door panels that I’m restoring and would like to see some creative options and ideas of what people have added to this area either than replacing the pockets since I don’t really like that look?
I could just leave it blank and paint it but thought there may be some other cool options

Are they missing or just don't exist. Not all trim levels had them, my crew has some out of a suburban. My other trucks never had them.

They are missing but there are old plugs where they use to go I’m think

Get Adam @Deuling to make you something cool and bolt them on.

Your truck is too clean to do this , but what I have done on old beater trucks is take old blue jeans, cut them up and sew them back together to make panels that I glue over the oem door panels, dash pad, console etc.
the pockets in the jeans make cool little places to stash items.... my wife is handy with the sewing machine, so I give her the templates and she does them in her spare time.. she even found a small roll of blue jean material at the fabric store, so she picked that up too. .jeans are a dime a dozen at Goodwill etc..

That does sound cool would love a pic just to see it....
I’m thinking of trying to find a hard plastic box to put here to make it usable for small storage or blocking it out with a stained piece of wood that and getting a wood grain steering wheel down the line to.match it...
Just some ideas hate the original pouches

Anybody come across something useful here? I was thinking it would be great to remove the lower carpet panel and use all of those screws to attach a fabricated door pocket, complete with a bump-out for a cupholder. It could be something like this and the pocket could be any length from 1-cup to the whole door.

Maybe this is something @Deuling could bring to market.

I'm also interested in a pocket replacement - hopefully something with a few separate compartments in it.

I was just thinking about this the other day, but couldnt find an example. Im on board. A matching set for CC/sub back doors. Take my money.

@centexk5 has a 3d printer :whistle:
I could but I’m limited to 200mmx200mm on a single print. I could do a couple prints and just bolt them together. Let me take a look at my truck tomorrow and see what I can whip up. May take a couple of days to get it drawn out.

There are standard patterns available that let parts snap together. It could ship in 2 or 3 pieces and the end user glues them together. This could be a huge feature, actually. The front section can be a speaker ring or a cupholder or map pocket. Similar options for the middle. There could be a back section that's flat to attach carpet/vent to.

The amount of space available probably varies with the type of seats, like bench vs Suburban highback, etc. Anybody know which is the widest? I feel like there is all kinds of space available and newer, narrower vehicles all have the door panels protruding in like this.

There are a lot of printed interior accessories for Jeeps on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/1750958705/. Somebody even has panels to fill a squarebody HVAC vent slot with gauges and/or switches: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1456287547/.

Theres actually some decent stuff on etsy now for squares. The column tach mount is something i have been wanting for years, and seems someone makes one now. Ill be ordering one

I would be happy to assist with measurements or anything that folks need for front doors, rear doors, whatever is needed to help move this forward

One thingvto consider, some mount fire extinguisher, or mag light right there on the floor next to seat.

Ever make any progress on this?
