Awhile back I remember finding a company through a Google search that would build you a custom q-jet based on your engines/vehicles specs. You could send them your carb/core, they'd build it for ya. For the life of me I can't find them again. I know about http://www.smicarburetor.com/ and have checked them out, but it's not the company I remember....Anyone have any other ideas/links? My carb is soooo wrong for my 454 it's rediculous. It runs soooo fat, that you can't stand behind the truck at all. It cuts out above 4500rpm, falls flat on its face like a switch. It's a good carb, Edelbrock 1902 Q-Jet, just not right for my bb.

carb?

I had mine done at Neils in Placerville. After that it would run great on the con at any angle and fine in the valley. I'll try to find the info if your really interested.

Some of my buddies used a place in San Jose that was known to be really good when I lived out there.

I can find out what the place was if you want,

Q-Jet

I had mine done by Jet performance www.jetchip.com
IIRC it cost $185 + shipping. Completely rebuilt with throttle shaft bushings and all new parts. You give them all of your operating specs, and they set it up fo that. Mine ended up running alomst as well as EFI on and off road.
