custom rear bumper - matl ???

Hey, guys.

I'm getting a free 8' stick of 4x6 steel tubing with 1/4" wall thickness. Do y'all think that'll be ok for building a rear bumper?

I built my rear bumper with 3" x 8" x .250" wall tube. I also built a swing out tire carrier and i guesstimate the bumper to weigh about 225 lbs. with the tire carrier.

I just built one for my '75 Suburban out of that. I didn't weigh it, but it didn't seem too heavy. I'll get pics. in the am.
