First things first!
Disable the stupid reverse lockout. Easy peasy. I pulled apart the shifter before i ever even shifted it on the workbench and ground the tab off on the detent plate. No picture of that unfortunately but if you have one you'll know exactly what to do.

Second. Install shifter. Check.

Stock gate for reference.

Third would have to be the R-D/D-R slam. it isnt hard to do with the stock gate whatsoever but after driving on it a few days i did blast past D a few times. no big deal, but i prefer to hit D with confidence.
So cutty cutty time.

Two things happen in this one, First and most importantly, i have a 4 speed, this is a 3 speed gate, so i slowly took off the metal little by little until it stopped with the detents both in the trans and on the shifter.
So now for first you pull the lever and yank er on back. i didnt want an accidental 1st gear while driving around so i made 1st a pull lever only gear, we all know that 2nd and 1st in a 700 is a huge drop and will usually have an ebrake, face in the steering wheel effect if downshifting with any sort of speed. I also shaved the park safety stop into a sort of ramp, i found myself realeasing the lever and grabbing it quiet often. So know i can bump right over it.
