Hello all.
I have a new to me 1978 chevy blazer. 350 engine 350 trans and np203 transfer case. The cv joint on the front drive shaft is definitely worn. It would seem easy enough to replace the u-joints in the cv joint but they are not held in with clips as I would expect. They seem to be held in with pins.
Is this normal? Can I replace these joints or will I have to get a shop to do it?

Thanks
Joe

plastic is more like it.

heat the area around the caps up good heat source . the plastic will spew out or even explode out . ( WATCH YOUR SELF ITS HOT )

then let the unit cool off. and change them like normal.

but get the remaining plastic out of the groves before installing the new caps. and file the flats were the clips will now sit to be flat and free from rust.

good luck.

That was great! Thanks for the instructions. It was kind of neat to watch the plastic shoot out the little holes. Once again thanks for the help!
