Well there's a 32 spline 465 with a 203 / Dana 300 doubler for sale locally for a good price. I run a fullsize chev with a 465 / 208. I know this set up came out of an s truck, has low miles and probably has not been abused. What's the deal with the 300? Is it worth me looking in to? Anybody else run a set up like this?

Thanks. I knew they are pretty much a Jeep case but wasn't sure about strength or if it is doable.

About the strength issues, how can these jeep guys run the same set-up(1 tons, or duce n a halfs, small and big block v8's, double tc, in this case w/ a dana 300 etc..) as us chevy guys, which are pretty close in weight and not have problems with the d300? Whats their magic lol?

Some of it has to do with weight.

What makes you think that they the Jeep guys don't break D300's? I've seen plenty of broken cases and stripped gears in D300's.

Lots of people run 208/241's in fullsize trucks and don't break them. Some people do break them.

i was just mentioning the fact that i have heard many of the jeep guys talk about breaking their 300 hundred.. that was why i brought up that point.. everything has a weak point i guess, what would you say would be the first thing to break on a 300?

It seems like more of the cases break than the gears. There are a couple companies that make aftermarket cases.
