D.C. area transmission rebuilder?

I need to get a 700r4 back in my Suburban, the th400, stock tires, and 4.10s are killing me. Does anyone know of a good shop around D.C.? I contacted Glen Burnie and they gave me some quotes but they farm out the work, and I'd like to be able to talk to the guy doing the job.

Yes I can probably do this myself, but we moved into base housing I have to use the hobby shop on base which adds more time and money, and I start two college courses next week, with one on Saturdays so I just don't have time.

Got it! I am going to call tomorrow and talk with them. I am picking up an '89 gasser 700r4 and np241 Friday to use as a core but I need a diesel version back which should just be the converter and governor change. When I sent the quote request up they replied with "your vehicle has a TH400". I send them a glove box picture and things were good. $1700 for a reman is steep but it has a 3 year 100K mile warranty.

We will see later on this week, I'll recoup some of this by selling my NV4500 swap setup an some spare parts I have laying around.

i have used him for my trans parts and sold him parts .

Yea a got a quote from him a while back, I'll have to see if I can still find it. These transmissions are not worth the rebuild price!

I just ordered one of their HD 700r4s. Time to pull my clutch pedals out and get the nv4500 swap stuff up for sale.
