D44 Backing Plate

My 6 lug 44 had brackets like that, never seen an 8 lugger w/ them. I don't doubt that they made them, just never seen them. Bump for ya.

Never seen one at all or never seen a passenger side?

The one posted is what I have on the drivers side, so they definitely exist. I just need another for the passenger side. I assume they are the same part?

For now I just took off the dust shield as it is beyond saving. I wouldn't mind having the solid version just to protect the rotor.

Though I don't think I've seen any one do the same for their disk swaps...maybe it's a waste of time?

No I have seen them in the 6 lug version, but not 8 lug, Heck they may be the saem I don't know. I was just saying I have only seen that style on 6 luggers.

They exist. I have a set on my 10 bolt that I converted to 8 lug. I personally would rather have the other/newer type so I could cut the dust sheilds off. I could save about 15lbs of steel if I had the newer style. Plus things like rocks and mud just fall out instead of staying lodged behind the rotors.

Yeah I'd given that some serious thought but figured protecting the rotor, especially in the front might be a good idea.

I don't run wide backspace wheels so my rotors are still pretty close to the rims for protection. On wide BS rims I could see your point. I just run what I have because it is paid for and is already there and working. If I had a do over I might change it but its all good.
