D44 question

Can anyone enlighten me if a set of D44 axle shafts are compatible with my stock '72 K5 D44? They are 30 spline inners, 19-spline stubs. Any incompatibilities to look out for? Did anything change through the years? U-joints?

Yup you can swap in any set of GM D44 axels. After 72 GM started using 297 Ujoints(the biger ones) 73 and up just slide right in no issues at all. One other 'change' to the axel shafts is the outer stub may have two grooves for the snapring postion but they still work just fine.
