Is there any way to get around taking your hub all the way apart just to swap ujoints on a dana 44 front axel? Why can't you just unbolt the spindle and slide the axle out.
You cannot unbolt the spindles without removing the hubs/rotors, and you cannot remove the knuckles without the axle shafts being removed. No way around it, you have to strip it down to the knuckle
If there was another way to not take off the hubs, and was easier then taking everything off it would be done all the time. Most the half ton guys can change a shaft in 20-30minutes. I'm more like 40ish, but i'm working on it
