Hello. How much weight does one add when removing the 1/2 ton axles in a mid-eighties Blazer and throwing in a Chevy D60 front and a ff 14 bolt w/drums?

I did a search and found info on the weight of the 1 ton axles, but was unable to find info on the 1/2 ton stuff.

Thanx.

Thanx K30. I don't know how I did not find that page in a search. Interesting that going from 10 bolts to a D60/14FF only adds 195 pounds (for the front I used the 8 lug weight).

Thanx again.

Yeah, 'cept there isn't a listing for a complete rear 10 bolt without a crate, which I'd say is in the 300 lb range.

Seems you're gonna gain 150-175 in the rear, and about 140 up front.

Thanx K5. The first one under axles/driveshafts says 400 lbs for a drum-drum10 bolt rear axle in a crate. I figured the weight of a crate as wood pallet or something.

Like giving a sumo wrestler a ride.

I wouldn't take that as gospel...the 205 is definitely a little heavier than the 241.
