Let me start by saying the slides are in with the bolts and the brakes are working fine, they just clink and rattle. Last time I had them out I had to pound the slides in so I know they are I there good and the bolts are tight. Both calipers rattle like 1/8-1/4” making them loud when braking. I’ll try and get a video.

Both calipers are remains.

there is a spec on caliper to bracket gap or they can do this .

here is a paper i got years ago with a set of calipers for this bendix style brake . it shows how to check gap and what oversize shim to order .

also make sure you have the spring tab / squeaker on the inner pad or it can chunk up/down on the brake bracket in its slots and make noise .1 of these pad inner pad . the pic just shows more than the pair is all .

that video shows exactly what the pics i posted up talk about .

the calipers are to worn down or the brake bracket is to worn . this is why you need to check the gap and will probably need a oversize wedge for the bottom to push the caliper up were it needs to be .

Looks like I’ll have to measure. Like I said been running these for years no issues just noticing little things that aren’t quite right now that I’m driving it way more.

i got lucky and got this paper in a napa box doing a brake job for a guys p-30 step van box truck years ago . he was complaining of the same think clunk / clunk with the brakes . if you look at the 1st pic you will see my notes and the 2 wedges i had to use to take up his play .
