Does anyone know of a way to run...just a 2" lift with cross-over steering on a Dana60 ?
Furthermore, What are the clearance requirerments, particularly between Pitman arm and D side leaf spring? I currently can see plenty of space now with my 3" Tuff-Country during zero articulation...( parked, flat ground). What theory of measure? Truck sits higher than i would like, but i don't yet have on the winch, tube bumper, aux. battery. Springs are 1.5 year old and haven't had any heavy articulation.

Thanks for your interest

82 K10 converted TBI 1 TON
35" BFG M/T 16x9 steel
DANA 60 open for now
3" Tuff-Country with O.R.D HD shackles
FF14 BOLT Detroit locker
O.R.D shackle flip
4:56 gears
700R4 NP208
custom 350 sb TBI with Howell wires
EDL 3704 intake with Araid spacer, Headers-dual Ex. 2.5
Will have Warn Winch, DOM bumpers, sliders.
Excellent M.P.G still under way via...p.c.v trick/chip programing!!
currently only 13 m.p.g.
MUST SEE AT LEAST 17 OR 18 free-way
Daily driver/ camp-travel rig

Looking at your parts list, it looks as if it might fit. I have the O.R.D. crossover on my K5. I have yet to put in my trans/t-case but, have bumper, winch, engine, etc. in. Here's my specs for comparison:
3" Tuff Country EZ rides w/ O.R.D. shackles (is that the same springs you have?)
O.R.D. low profile front bumper with 9500ti Warn winch
Dana 60 w/ O.R.D. crossover and PSC hydro assist
350 TBI
stock battery tray and single battery
It all fits thus far and I don't think it's gonna drop down too much more. The pitman arm is close but, not SUPER close. I'll have to measure the distance on sunday.

Hey blowedupmotor87 please help...forum respond help

That was my first posting. it doesn't seem to let me "quick reply" to your reply. Also said i wasn't logged in and i must refresh. we'll see if it works this time. i don,t get along with computers!

Anyways...
Nice truck!
Yes, i have EZ rides.
no hydro.
Significantly different weight distribution, being that my wheel base is longer
but, before we get into any micro influences, i must better convey the exact distance of my pitman arm(actually the drag link's rod end that goes up in th Pitman) to D side leaf spring. so it is.......going for tape measure, out in slippers.......Aprx.<4.25 inches
We need to predict clearances during articulation.
Anyhow...THANKS!
i look forward to Sunday,s info. i will respond by Monday,s night.

Allrighty, I went and did some measuring today (I just got home, wicked tired, I took some pics but, I'll load them monday afternoon, sorry). Anyways, at ride height ( but w/o trans and t-case as mentioned) there is about 5 inches of space between the drag link end and the driver's leaf spring (wheels straight). Not bad! But, at full lock left turn, that space is reduced to about 3.5 inches. Up travel will be limited to account for this! By how much, I have yet to determine, gonna hafta flex it and see (I doubt the leaf spring compression will actually make it hit at only 3.5 inches of travel, but, it all depends on how the spring flexes). Now, there is the option of running a different pitman arm to allow more spring clearance BUT, then frame clearance would become an issue for the pitman arm.

Here's the draglink end to spring clearance with wheels straight. This clearance is reduced to about 3.5" with the wheels turned to lock left. As I've said, I will see how much the spring actually deforms when flexed to set the bumpstops.

For some reason the image will show up while editing but, won't shiow up when posting, sorry! Just click the link and you'll see it! I will post pics when the Jimmy is together and we flex test it! : )

2" lift w/ CROSSOVER

That's a 10-4.
Say, When i'ts convenient; grab a measurement of your true standing suspension like so...
FRONT: From the top of your axle tube(NOT u-bolt clamp plate)
UP, till it meets the "Bump-stop Bracket" (NOT the rubber bump stop it's self)
Of course on flat ground, do both D-side and P-side then avg.
Perhaps, better to do it after your other part's are in.

Do you think you'll be happy with your 3" lift?

Are you considering a 2"?

A couple weeks ago i spoke with stephen about this possible 2" with cross-over and he was Quite wary, regarding Crossover clearances.
Said that i would be going where no one has gone before. maybe that's
just a bit more motivating for me besides the fact that I AM EXHAUSTED and just want this project to be "done". Obsessed! You probably know all about that. I have spent enough time in my shop with this dream, NEED to
crawl to camp!
Anyhow, take your time.
I am going to focus on my Block-Learn numbers for a chip re-programming from Howell Engine Development. M.P.G !!!
I should be having something VERY interesting to tell you about concerning the P.C.V & M.P.G.

I will be looking for you.

I'll try and remember to do some more measuring sunday. I am happy with my 3" lift, definitely have no desire to drop down at all. I'll have a better idea once it's up and running/wheeling! I hear ya on wanting to get it "done", there's so much stuff yet to do on mine that it is driving me nuts! We got the drivetrain all in on a temporary crossmember so, new measurements will be more accurate. Good luck with you mileage stuff bro, I'd definitely like to see what ya come up with, gas prices are CRAZY! Thanks! :D

Well, I finally wheeled it yesterday! It worked great! We limited the front up travel to about 3.5" or so to keep the drag link end from hitting the springs at full compression and full turn. Due to how stuff moves, the draglink end does get very close at full stuff and full lock turn but, it works! I was worried the ride would be rough with so little up travel but, I got ORD's competition bumpstops and they have some give to them so, I never actually noticed it bottoming out! The ride was super nice with the 3" lift and Bilstein 5150's! I really recommend the set-up! We had the tires aired down to 15 psi and it felt really comfy and stable! The crossover and hydro assist made steering really easy (even with the front ARB locked). On the street though, the steering is almost too low effort (so easy to turn that it almost feels like it's not hooked up) and the ride's a bit soft (body roll and brake dive) but, overall, it's not bad, I'm just used to my D-max (stiff stock height 3/4 ton HD, IFS). Really I am very happy with the overall setup! After I pressure wash the mud off, I'll get some measurements for ya! Sorry it's taken me a long time to get back to ya, I have been really busy!

Alright! I also got mine in the rocks but ridiculously only with 2wd. chipped a couple of tread blocks but did really good with that Detoit in rear.

Don't worry about time...I'm still in the thick of trying to increase M.P.G. Having a fiasco with my diagnostic scanner! Should get progress tomorrow.

I've been busy getting food in the ground and on the table.
I will check back within two weeks.
Glad you had a good trip!
