I now have a truck with a d60 and of course I have death wobble. I've done the search and found numerous fixes, but I havent tried any of them yet cause mine isnt bad enough yet to worry me. My question is

Do the D60's with balljoints get death wobble? (assuming the balljoints are good) I havent heard much about this in fords and such that have them. could be because I'm not around them either.

AND

If they dont get it, Why dosent any one switch out the C's on the end of thier axles, like during the rotating for driveline angle jobs.

Just a few things I've been pondering. I'm not doing it either way probably for years, but I would like to know for future use.

Yes, loose ball joints or kingpins aren't the only cause.

What does that mean? Are you asking why people don't switch to ball joints?

Kingpins are often worn out because we're using 20-35 year old axles, anything would be worn out at that point. The good news for a kingpin axle is that they are SUPER cheap and easy to replace the kingpin springs and bushings (the majority of the wear parts, we sell the kit for both sides for $24 and it shouldn't take more than an hour or so). Price out ball joints and how long they take to change.

Oh yeah, and you can actually put a steering arm on a kingpin D60 :thumb:

Ok, I just wondered. and I have already planned to buy the bushing set for mine from you guys. I read all the stuff that people have done and tried to fix ths problem. I thought the balljoints would be a more solid knuckle, (No springs and such). hopefully I wont have to go to such great legnths.

skip the plastic orignal style bushings and get the reid/dedenbear brass/ampcoo bushings last forever and fit tighter and work better.

mad mac on pirate or his shop http://www.cmperformancemachine.com/store/product.php?productid=16133&cat=249&page=1 sells them. but read up on some shipping probles before ordering from this one.

pics of my set from last year.

some guys run them on king of the hammers race rigs with zero breaking. stock plastic break a lot otherwise.
