OK I was distracted when I took out the axle shafts on a D60 and didn't notice the order of the pieces which go on the knuckle. It's kinda hard to tell from the tech articles. Does anyone remember?

Is it: Knuckle > disk brake bracket > big dust cover > spindle > little dust ring?

Thanks,
Jeff

I just did this same thing
It goes like this
1.knuckle
2.brake bracket
3.Rotor dust shield
4.Round thin spindle cover (cant remember the name of it)
5.Axle shafts
6.Spindle..

:D

Thanks. Makes sense all except the spindle cover. Doesn't it go on last after the spindle. That is the one part I seem to remember since it surrounds the knuckle-spindle lug nuts. Are we talking about the same part?

First the Spindle goes in the Knuckle, then ( left to right ) the caliper bracket goes on, then the big dust sheild, then the little dust shield then all the washers and nuts, then the Hub and rotor can be remounted.

Thanks RaisedK5. Now there are two different orders mentioned  . Are you pretty confident in this order?
Thanks.

Well, if you put it together wrong the caliper wont fit over the rotor and thats how i put mine together. If you think about it, the spindle supports the weight so its a slip fit into the knuckle then the rest goes on. that pick was a disassembly pick and thats the order i took it off in, as you can see the spindle is still in the knuckle, but i'll look when i get home, (still at work :frown1: )

get a High Pinion 60 and pull both of them apart at the same time. Have fun figuring out what goes what way. (they are different and a real pain cause you get thoroughly confused)
