On a 4" lift, frt D60, Np205, TH400 combo(frt springs such as Rancho, BDS, or Tuff Country), can one run a front driveshaft without a cv joint? I do need some high rpms for mud and snow. Just wondering if I can do away with the cv when it comes time to get a new driveshaft - also easier to grease a non-cv unit.

if you can get the driveline angles to where it does not require a CV then yes, but i do not think you will be able to get the front angles that small where you will not need one

search irate. there are guys making non cv driveshaft out of d 60 axle shafts (1480 joints:eek1::D) They have plenty of angle

1480 joints have the same span as a 1410 just large bearign caps, if you want a larger span you need to step up to a 1550 they have the same caps as the 1480 but a larger span, A lot of the new chevy trucks actually use 1480 joints in the rear now
