I started this project 2 weeks ago, but my life got in the way.

I need to replace these things and I'm torn all the way down but can't get the old ones out. Largest socket I have is 11/4, it slides through the seal. Tried a broomstick, but it won't grab the seal....what other tricks you got? Don't mention going to get something, turkey day stores are closed, and I wantto be on the trail tomorrow if possible.

TIA

I always use a long pry bar, hooking them from threw the cover side. I have never tried knocking them out from the tube side. But a pry bar down the tube using a hammer might work

did you have anything planned for installation? thats really the hard part. they have to be in there straight or they will leak.

this is what i have, but you can make one from sockets, washers, nuts and all-thread

Got them out with long pry bar, thanks.

Install with slightly ground old seal and hub nut socket. I'll let you know later how that works.

Success!! Cuss louder, hit harder!

Guess Saturday is new LED rock lights and tailgate replacement instead. Awesome.

I used a washer from a body bushing, a piece of tube and my wife hit it while I kept it centered. Worked perfect. I actually used my jack handle on the long side, didn't have a long enough piece of tube handy.
