If I'm runiing crossover and highsteer can I cut the stock tie rod mounts off the knuckles. I wont be using them but I don't know if it will weaken them alot, Anyone else done this, what do ya guys think.

I know you would not be using the knuckle tie rod arms with Hi-Steer, but what purpose would it serve to cut them off? They wouldn't really cause you any problems and if you ever sell your D60 because you want to go Rockwells or Unimog 505's, then you're 60 is diminished in value. JMHO, but I'd leave them alone. They are not like the steering arm/King Pin cap on the drivers side.

Not criticizing, just curious.

I wouldnt cut them off for the fact that if you want to seel the axle your up the creek...

It wouldnt weaken it too bad if you just cut the arm and thenot into the knuckle itself...

I'm never gunna sell the truck or the axle lol, never. not after this much time and money and i'll never go bigger I know that. Reason I want to take them off is there ust ugly sticking out there not being used ya know.even to just cut the arm and grind it round I think it would be alright strengh wise. Just need some more imput. Thanks.

I wouldnt cut them off. Have they ever hung you up? They have never hung me up. Say you wanna change your set up for 1 reason or another, or you kill your highsteer some how... you could still hook a rod and get off the trail...

Hang some truck nutz from them!

I agree though, they aren't doing any harm.

like all have said, really just leave them alone. You've got a Dana 60, don't bugger it up.

if you are not wanting them there upgrade to a aftermarket knuckle that is desgined not to have them there then you can sell the stock ones or keep them as spares, and the aftermarket knuckles will not kill resale they will help
