Anybody have any tricks for removing them? I don't have a bearing puller. So far a brass drift has worked fine for all my bearing removals, but the spindle bearings have such a small shoulder and are so deep down in the spindle that I can't get a good "bite" on them. I have a feeling there is no "trick", I just need to keep trying, but I thought I'd ask anyway. :dunno:

I use a blind end puller. I adjust the collect so that it grabs the bearing but then i use a brass drift going through the spindle and press it out rather than using the knocker part of the puller.

Others have used a small chisel to crunch the bearing shell inwards then pry it out, or use a small die grinder with some form of metal bit and cut them in half then they'll fall out.

Not sure they are the same, but on my D44 spindles, I went to autozone and borrowed their pilot bearing puller and slide hammer. Two whacks and theyre out.
