Picked up a set of Upgrades D60 Spindle Seal & Bearing Kits. Pricey at $40 each. Went to install the Seals today before replacing the spindles and immediately hit issues. The kit has a large black seal that installs in place of the large steel slinger that traditionally goes just behind the Spindle bearing on the stub shafts. The large black seal DOES not want to go on easy. The tolerance seems to be almost zero. I lubed the seal but some of the rubber got pinched and ruined the seal. Tried the other side and slightly pinched the rubber. I'm not comfortable with the pinched rubber. It created an ever so slightly crooked install. Since this is a moving part I'm sure this will cause an issue. Gonna wait for new seals and try again. Gonna leave shafts outside in cold weather to maybe shrink the shaft to make install easier.
Any suggestions???
It isn't easy to use anything to help press the seals on evenly. The length of the stub shaft causes issues.
