I just had an idea which Ill never do but I wonder if it will work. Could you take a ford D60 and dissasemble it. Then remove the axle tubes and switch then around? Basicly turn it into a chevy D60? I have no plans on doing this but I would lkike to know if itll work.

lmk

You mean like flip the axle over to get the pumpkin on the other side? It would rotate the wrong way like that.

it is really hard to get the tubes out. it can be done & it will work in a chevy though. i have seen the tubes cut in 2 & swapped w/ just the tubes welded together also

THe spring pad would be on the wrong side of the pumkin

the best way to do it would be too use new material for the tubes. then u can cheat the pumpkin over far enough that u can build perches on the tube instead of the pumpkin

Or just leave the axle alone and use a ford 205.

That solves it /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

No I dont need reverse cut gears, everyone asked this, but if you think about it, the gears are exactly the same as a normal, low pinion front axle, which drives on the coast side of the ring gear, so no need for reverse cut gears!

The knuckles out are all D60, so all the steering parts are the same as would be for a 60, mines from SKY, AWESOME products! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

As for the write up, I didnt even bother, seeing as how most people didnt like the whole idea, so I didnt waste my time. However if you would like any info, anyting specific, whatever, just let me know! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Come on Stephen say it. Leave your 203 in place and run a Ford 205 off an ORD Doubler. I was going to do it until I got a good deal on a GM 60.
