I need a super heavy duty tie rod for my 60
What tie rod are you using? where did you get it and is it solid or hallow?

solid rod

I make them out of 1.25" diameter solid rod and drill & tap the ends with 7/8-18 LH & RH thread.

I had a tierod end go bad... before I put the truck on the road recently... was bad on the d60 I got... so I bought it from ABC as they were going out of business... got the $90 long side for $35!!!!! so I was like... WTF might as well replace the other.. shortie side... that was $48 marked down to $12!!!!!

so I get home and goto put them on and where they connect doesnt fit... seems these were BEEFIER than what was on the truck... 1979 GMC K35 tierods are HUGE!!!!!

I have rockstomper, 1.5" tube with 5/16" wall thickness. I don't think they do much steering junk anymore. If I was you, I'd contact blackwidowperformance.com. They are long time ck5 members and can make you a beefy tierod np.

I run the ORD rod and it is tuff. I have beat it on the rocks hard and it is still straight.
