I used the Superlift u bolt kit to install my D60 in my Jimmy today. The issue are the 2 studs. There is not enough threads for the nuts to contact the spring plate. Can I use washers for spacers ? Or can I reuse the stock bolts , they fit. Also there is a gap between the spring plate and axle on the stud side. Is this a problem or not? Thanks.

I don't see why using washers would hurt anything as long as it wasn't 15 of them. You could also get a thread die and cut them deeper down the stud.

The gap on the stud side is normal.

Mine has 3 or 4 washers on the studs because it was easier than cutting them down shorter. You should probably use the thick washers from a spring shop, but I think SAE washers are fine. That's what I used because I buy them by the box from Fastenal for shackles and motor mounts.

I don't think reusing the old studs is a problem, assuming they are not damaged. I don't think the studs are grade 5 like ubolts are. They have issues with snapping off in the housing as it is, so I doubt they would design them to deform into the threads.
