D60 U joint clips?

I'm running spicer inners Spicer U joints and Yukon chromo outers. A whiile back re used a U joint and factory style half clips. After a couple of runs I lost a clip and almost lost a cap and more. I decided to try to put full circle snap rings on and found that it won't work with my spicer inners.

What are you guys running? I had no problems with the factory clips until I re used them. I can't find any factory style. Any body have a part # for a kit? Any body clearence their shaft to accept the full circle clips? I'm not sure what to do, where to get clips or if I should weld the caps.

Any info or help would be appreciated.

I just found this for a 35. It's quite a bit of grinding. I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

That's what I would do (and what I will do next time I have my shafts out).

I've done this for my 28-spline 10b . Actually, with a vise and a hacksaw. Haven't had a cap come out since.

It's not a lot of material that must be removed; pic #5 in the link above looks very much overkill. Going at it with a dremel seems more sensible than that big grinder.

I had a good look. You have to grind out the little step and then go beyond in to the thick material to be able to get the snap ring in to postion on my spicer shafts. I'll probably do it.
