Do you guys think a Dana 60 would hold up under the rear of a Suburban? 37" tires, lockers. I want OX lockers or E-lockers and they are dragging their feet making one for the 14B.

You want it locked in the rear anyway, why not run a Detroit locker?
I know you have snow and ice at times up there but, can it be driven with a little more caution durring those times?

IMO, the D60 would hold up fine. Just be aware it is weaker than a 14FF, and you may want alloy shafts at some point. There IS an ARB Airlocker for the 14FF, though, since it seems you really want a selectable locker.

I do want a selectable locker. I've had Detroits in my last 3 trucks over the past several years and LOVE them in the dirt, but I took the Detroit out a of the rear few months ago. Front and rear detroits on icy, hilly streets is a nightmare. It just goes sideways (over curbs, honda's etc.). I'm not too keen on ARBs just because of air issues. Air lines are fragile, you can end up with condensation etc. They are not off the menu, I just think something mechanical or something you could patch up with electrical tape sounds best.

So maybe a D60 with upgraded shafts? I could justify new shafts for an axle I could get cheap...

I have no idea. I haven't looked at the rear D60's at all. I was just trying to see if anybody thouhgt it would live there.
