D60's are weak

The locker didnt break the axles, use some common sence. his wheels were straight, meaning the wheels were turning at the same speed... because it was locked it distributed power to both wheels rather than all to one side (as in an open) His wheel was jammed as he said and the ears snapped...

No joint failure...
No circlip failure...
No locker cause troubles...

Simply big JAMMED up tires, on spicer shafts, ears went cause the were the weakest link...

Doesnt matter if they were 30 or 35 spline, the EARS broke, not the splines:rolleyes:

This is a very good theory, however I believe that the flame decals are the actual cause of the breakage. :D

Well, like you said, you didn't know. A shot of the offending parts breaker.

Wheels never turn at the same speed, way too many variables and differences. A fixed carrier forces them at the same speed. Jam a wheel and the diff won't allow torque distribution between the wheels. Snap.
In the 21st century, we have LSDs.
Nothing personal:D

I dont see any difference between welding and a Detroit. When in 4wd the detroit will be locked solid just as solid as a welded dif.

I have not broken an axle with my welded front but I did blow up a front driveshaft:D .
