What type/size of rotors do I need to purchase for a disk brake convert? I already have the Eldo calipers and the disk brake mounts. I just don't know what rotors to get.

I am leaving the axles at the original DRW length and using H1s. No hub changes.

Will I need to get new lug bolts and backing bolts? I am hoping the guys who have done this can link their build thread.

I know I need to move the perches and shock mounts, no prob there. I am doing an rear inboard shock mount kit from DIY4X. I am putting 56s out of a Burb in the rear and using DIY's flip and switch with 6"shackles.

I also decided to go with F250 shock towers, along with 52" springs/B52s and cross over steering. Hydro and high steer will come later, maybe sooner than later, who knows. Anyway, I digress. Back to the two top questions. Thanks!

For our dana 70 HD disc conversion when using the axle in a single wheel application, we still use the 73-87 3/4 ton 4x4 front rotor. 5523 is a part no. we use. May cross reference for you.

Never tried it with the deep offset on the hummer wheel

I would think it would work fine considering the size of the drum that is on there now. I will look it up, check measurements, and see. Thanks for a starting point.

My dually Dana 70 rear has 3/4 ton chev front rotors, calipers and weld on brackets with H1s and they clear just fine.

Hey GreenieK30, do you have a build thread? I would love to read through it seeing as you have already done what I want to do. Did you put new studs in or were you able to reuse what was on there?

I checked AutoZone and they have the rotors for pretty inexpensive. That is good to go now.

I got my brake lines, Ubolts, and so forth today. I got the Detroit last week along with the new gears. Bushings came in today also. Cant wait to get going on it. After the 4th, it is back to work on the D70 rebuild.

I reused the original studs. No build thread, I did that disc swap about 8 years ago.

Good info. But just to clarify, the GM rotors will work with the 70hd also, or are all 70's hd

Some Dana 70's require a larger inner diameter on the rotor itself. The rotors will work with a little trim on the ID.

Awesome. Thanks for the input. I was thinking the rotors would be fine after looking at dimensions and so forth but to have additional advice is always welcome.
