I will be bringing my dad's K30 home this week. He purchased it new when I was a toddler and I spent a large part of my childhood in this thing.

Cab chassis. She is rough so I haven't come up with a plan yet. But I'll have some time to think on the drive home.

She is a bit crusty. Frame is about to break in half, floors and cab supports are rusted away, this is going to be my payback for teasing everyone in the rust belt with photos of rust free trucks getting cut up for scrap.... although if also means I have most of those pieces saved to patch up the body.

Homemade pintle hitch my dad built. I'm not sure what he hauled with it, but it was probably used once for that purpose and became a step up on the bed for little kids after that.
Gotta love midwest rust! I don't miss that one bit when it comes to old trucks.
I don't miss the rust either, but this truck had to come home with me and have something done to save it or I wouldn't be happy.
I love how the frame is crusty, but the 2x4 is still looking solid

Lots of flatbeds for light duty up to heavy duty trucks use hardwood for frame spacing.
I made good time heading home until I lost a tire. Then I found the Chevy wheel I was using as a spare, did not fit the trailer axle. The center was too small. So, I limped it 25 miles on 3 wheels to a convenient place to stop and a friend ran a wheel out to me that got me to a tire shop.

Dad's Memorial was today. My sister had a photo album put together with all the pictures of our horses over the years including a few pics of the K30 as it was used to haul the horses.
