Well we got home from Ca. Is a beautiful paint job on this car, all the bright work has been done, all original trim. Will need a new radiator, the Grant steering wheel is loose on the column will investigate soon, soon wetness on the booster that may be a leaking master cylinder, both valve covers are seeping. Got on the lift. Under side is survivor with some period maintenance. Most of the under side rubber is 51 years old. Has had the passenger side engine mount replaced, who does that?
The dual exhaust was done nicely had new rear coils. I found remnant of air shocks and trailer wiring.
The steering has some slop, I think mostly the gear box. Tie end have a bunch of squeeze @¼" of in and out.
Both valve covers are leaking, going to redo those tomorrow when fender cover arrives.IMG_20231004_115927.jpgIMG_20231004_115937.jpgIMG_20231004_120049.jpgIMG_20231004_120138.jpgIMG_20231004_120145.jpgIMG_20231004_120211.jpg

Ranchero getting a new radiator.
Old 2 row had 60 tubes, at 9/16" spacing.
New high efficiency 3 row brass core has 119 tubes at 7/16" spacing. I am expecting this to perform well here. Wasn't cheap, though all considered not a lot more than a 3 row stock replacement.20240426_095906.jpg

Finished the current list of maintenance repairs.
The List
New Rad
Brand New Steering box
Inner, outer tie rods, and sleeves
Idler arm
Sway bar bushings and link kits
New Master cylinder
Rear brakes disassembled, cleaned, lubed and P brake strut bar springs replaced.
Brake fluid flushed rear brakes and P brake adjusted.
Choke and air fuel adjusted.

Steering tightened up nicely. I didn't think it all that horrible before but Dad didn't like it, He good with it now.
Radiator works really really well, Barely gets over warm with 105° F temps and AC on.

Still need to make the tach work with the electronic distributor. Needs a day light dash light switch Dad can't the dials.
The rear 4 link is going to need new bushing through out they are all original.
Valve covers will need doing and trans pan seeps
